Romania is one of the founding states of the World Diplomatic Academy and has been part and parcel of this ambitious diplomatic initiative under the visionary Presidency of H.E. Professor Dr. Emil Constantinescu, President of Romania and Rector of the Bucharest University.

The initiative continues to enjoy the support of the President of Romania Mr. Ion Iliescu for the subsequent  years. 

The World Diplomatic Academy is an international inter-governmental organization established in 1998t with the  aims of promoting and support all initiatives, actions and policies contributing to mutual understanding, exchange and cooperation promoting peacekeeping and conflict prevention and resolution, actions that require resolutely more coherent and sustainable approaches. 

The severity of the recetn economic and political crisis and its global impact require those responsible for the world we are entering to be able to respond effectively and appropriately to the renewed challenges that range from peace and security to climate change, global trade and sustainable development. For this purpose, the World Diplomatic Academy benefits from the 35-year experience and the permanent and active support of the Institute of International Relations and Economic Cooperation of Romania, Diplomatic Center,, Blackseanews Agency. European Council on Tourism and Trade, European Tourism Academy, European Diplomatic Academy, and World tourism Institution-European Council on Tourism and Trade.
